Marie Carmel was born from love, loss, tradition, and legacy. 🤍

My grandmother, Rosemarie Carmel Desrosiers, was so much more than my grandmother. She was a piece of home, a source of strength, beauty, comfort, and unconditional love. Some of my most precious memories are the simplest ones—sitting with her while she cared for my hair, her hands gently working through it with the kind of patience and tenderness only a grandmother can give. At the time, I didn’t realize just how deeply those moments would stay with me.

When I lost her in 2017, I lost someone who could never be replaced. But as the years passed, I realized that although she was no longer physically here, everything she poured into me was still very much alive.

Marie Carmel pays homage to her. What started as an idea for hair and body care became something much deeper—it became my way of honoring the woman who helped shape me.

Across generations, my family has cherished the importance of maintaining healthy hair and skin through traditions and recipes passed down with love. Our products are thoughtfully crafted with natural ingredients sourced from Haiti—a land of rich soil, powerful botanicals, and deeply rooted beauty traditions. In many ways, creating Marie Carmel became my way of preserving those traditions while carrying her legacy forward.

I wanted to build something that would keep a piece of her with me while allowing the love and care she gave me to touch other people, too. Every bottle, every jar, every ingredient, and every detail represents the nourishment, tradition, and intentional care I remember receiving from her.

Marie Carmel is more than a brand to us. It is my grandmother’s legacy continued through our hands.
